Mahonia x media 'Winter Sun', winner of an RHS AGM, is a big, evergreen shrub variety that produces wonderful, yellow fragrant blooms in winter months. November to March is the time for colour, brightening up winter gardens. Purple berries follow bringing further interest and food for birds in cold months. Hardy, tolerating winter weather, the foliage that lasts all year round produces leaves up to 45cm in size, in a glossy green tone. Architectural shrub for shady spots of the garden.
