Compact thrift Armeria caespitosa is perfect for coastal gardens since it can withstand salt and drought and looks beautiful in rockeries, gravel gardens, alpine troughs, and pots. This gorgeous juniper-leaved thrift forms a thick cushion of delicate, evergreen foliage, which in the late spring becomes covered in bunches of pale pink flowers carried on short stems. Just deadhead after flowering if you'd like to maintain this perennial, albeit the dried flowerheads are an intriguing sight in and of themselves! This RHS Award of Garden Merit winner can also be utilised as ground cover for a sunny, free-draining area or as a path edger. Height: 5cm (2in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
