Leatherjacket Killer: Steinernema carpocapsae Nematodes These beneficial nematodes are designed to control leatherjacket larvae by being watered into lawns or grassy areas. Once introduced to the soil, the nematodes actively seek out the larvae, penetrating them and releasing a bacteria that kills the grubs. The dead larvae then serve as a breeding ground for more nematodes. For best results, apply with plenty of water or irrigation to ensure the nematodes can move through the soil effectively. Avoid applying on sunny days, as these nematodes are sensitive to UV light. Available in two sizes: Small: Covers 100 square metres with 2 packs of 25 million nematodes.
