Superb Isle of Lewis chess set in classic colours metallic pewter and copper. Expertly made from a metal resin these pieces have an exceptionally substantial quality feel. Originally crafted from walrus cream and whales teeth the iconic Isle of Lewis chess pieces were discovered near the Uig coast on the Isle of Lewis in 1831. It is thought they originated in Norway circa AD 1150. The characters include wild-eyed berserkers, knights on horseback and a stately king and queen sitting at their thrones.
