Polystichum setiferum ?Herrenhausen? stands out from other ferns due to its ability to thrive in drier soils, making it an excellent choice for woodland borders beneath shrubs and trees. Its delicate, lacy fronds unfurl horizontally, forming attractive rosettes. This evergreen fern provides year-round ground cover, and although the fronds may become a bit worn by winter's end, they can be easily trimmed away to reveal the emerging spring bulbs like woodland anemones and daffodils. The fresh green leaflets then provide a beautiful backdrop as the flowers fade. Perfect for spring-themed borders and containers, it pairs wonderfully with plants like pulmonarias, hostas, and foxgloves. Height and spread: 60cm (24?).
