This 150mm x 38mm creosoted board is a timber board that has been treated with creosote, a type of wood preservative. Creosote is a dark, oily liquid made from coal tar and other chemicals. It is applied to wood to protect it from rot, decay, and insect infestations. Creosote has a 40 year desired service life, however it is only suitable for applications such as fencing within the agriculture sector. Creosote is a harmful substance and can react or burn the skin if contact is made. You must wear PPE such as gloves and long sleeved tops to protect your skin when handling the material.
