Clematis tangutica

25

A vigorous climber that will swiftly cover a wall, trellis or arch where its relaxed, billowing habit will soften solid structures. From July to October, Clematis tangutica is smothered in a profusion of bright yellow, lantern-like blooms with sturdy petals and eye-catching stamens, which hang down gracefully on long stalks. The flowers are followed by oversized, satiny seed heads which remain into winter, adding a wonderful second season of interest as well as offering plenty of material for birds to build their nests. Perfect for wildlife gardens and patios. Height: 400cm (157in) to 800cm (314in). Spread: 250cm (98in) to 400cm (157in).
