Arts and Crafts Experience Days: This two day stone carving workshop is a chance for budding sculptors to develop their technique with the help of an expert sculptor - available at venues in Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, and Wolverhampton. Create your own stunning relief out of limestone and learn a brand new skill! The art of stone carving dates back hundreds of thousands of years. The material's durability means that many early artworks still survive – the lasting legacy of ancient cultures around the world. During this two day course, you’ll learn to properly handle the tools of the trade, which haven’t really changed much since antiquity. Using a mallet and chisel, you’ll carve a raised design from a block of limestone. If you are a stone carving novice, do not fear! You’ll receive individual attention and step-by-step guidance from your friendly instructor throughout the course. Light refreshments are available, and you’re welcome to enjoy lunch in the onsite bakery and café.
