The Isolation Strip F5 is a self-adhesive flat profile rubber crumb strip intended to isolate features such as stud work from adjacent surfaces, hence reducing impact noise issues travelling through a building. This strip is laid on top of the joists and beneath the subflooring to separate and float the floor while soundproofing it. Any stud frames in walls and ceilings will also require similar separation from neighbouring surfaces to minimise structural-borne vibration passing into the new soundproofing partition. The strip is made of 92 percent recycled material, and its flat form is ideal for isolating stud wall vibrations. The strip is also resistant to mould, bacteria, fungi, and water, and it does not fail under strong loads.
