Apple Newton Wonder is less sharp in flavour and less juicy than many other varieties, making it ideal for mincemeat recipes and baking that require less moisture. A good substitute for the more well-known Bramley cooking apple. The large pale green fruits are tinged with red, giving them a pleasing appearance. This is a heavy-cropping late-season variety that should be picked in mid-October. The fruits have a long storage life, lasting until March of the following year.
