A beautiful, award winning hardy perennial which is a well known meadow and hedgerow plant. Commonly known as the Cowslip, Primula veris bears sunshine yellow flowers from March to May which carry a wonderful perfume. Simple to grow and perfect for low maintenance gardens, wildlife areas, alpines and rockeries. Height 23cm (9in). Contact with the leaves may cause skin allergy to some people with sensitive skins. Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Try the sweet tasting petals on top of salads or even pancakes, crystallise them for use as cake decorations too.
