A very popular Japanese Wisteria, no doubt due to its masses of double, violet-purple blooms that smother and pack out the prolific climber when spring and summer come around. ?Black Dragon? is easy to grow, ideally over a pergola, up a wall or any kind of framework/structure it can wrap its beautiful stems around, soaking up all the sun it can. In May and June the clusters will reach up to 46cm in length, emerging around the same time as the leaves which will age to green after starting out bronze. In autumn the foliage will then take on an interesting butter-yellow tone. Height: 8m (26 feet). Spread: 4m (13 feet).
