Ladybirds, both as adults and larvae, are voracious aphid predators, consuming large quantities of greenflies and blackflies. Adult ladybirds can lay between 20 to 50 eggs per day, rapidly increasing their population. By releasing ladybirds into your garden or greenhouse, you can effectively control aphid infestations, such as those on roses, or simply enhance the presence of these beneficial native insects in your garden. Each ladybird can consume up to 5,000 aphids, and their larvae will continue the hunt. We offer native British adult ladybirds (Adalia bipunctata) in packs of 25, with food included, and deliver them via 1st class post, ready to be released in your garden. For best results, release the ladybirds directly onto aphid-infested plants or scatter them around your garden in the early morning or late evening. Please note: Ladybirds are typically dispatched between May and August.
